No. The Little Voyagers Project is a customer-funded sponsorship programme run by Voyagers Hook. It is not a registered charity and contributions are not tax-deductible. 100% of what you contribute goes directly into purchasing fishing tackle - there are no charity overheads, no administration fees, and no third parties involved.
Every contribution goes into a dedicated kit fund. When the fund reaches target, we source and build complete starter fishing kits - rod, reel, end tackle and bait - and give them away for free to children registered through the Little Voyagers Club. Nothing is spent on anything else.
Your discount code will be sent to the email address you use when contributing. It's valid on any order in the Voyagers Hook shop and doesn't expire. If you don't receive it within 24 hours, get in touch and we'll sort it.
Parents register their child's interest through the Little Voyagers Club. When a batch of kits is ready to go out, we make a random selection from the registered list and contact the lucky families by email. There's no application process and no criteria to meet - every registered child has an equal chance.
No minimum at all. Every amount contributes to the fund and every contributor - regardless of how much they give - is named as a founding supporter and receives the 10% discount code.
As soon as the fund reaches target for the first batch. We're just getting started - the families who contribute now are the ones who make the first kits happen. We'll announce kit distributions on the Little Voyagers Project page and notify all registered families by email.
